- The NMOSD Australia Facebook group was been created for people diagnosed with NMOSD, living in Australia, to share knowledge, stories and general discussions about living with this rare disease.
- People living with NMOSD and carers are welcome (or if you or the person you are caring for are undiagnosed but NMOSD is a possibility).
- This particular group is for people living in Australia only (please) as we need to share relevant local (Australia wide) information, support and hopefully decrease loneliness and isolation.
- Invite as many people as you know within Australia so we can start a community and hopefully in the future become friends, meet up or just find understanding.
NMOSD Australia Facebook group is overseen by administrators and moderators
- Since this group began, we have held our first NMOSD Australian Patient Day in Melbourne on 17th March 2018 with expert guest speakers and those with NMOSD from around Australia attending. It was an opportunity to find out the latest research, meet with Doctors and make new NMO friends who understand this unpredictable disease.
- The group also have a mentor/peer support program for anyone with NMOSD who wants to chat one on one, either by phone, video calls or texts. Join the Facebook group to learn more
- We have two admin and rotate 10 moderators. They change every 6 months. Everyone is welcome and invited to be one.
